Sudanese London collective The Scorpios opens ‘Summer Sessions’

Paddington has a stunning new arts and entertainment venue called Grand Junction, and is launching a two-month programme of concerts.

Situated inside the Grade 1 listed neo-gothic church of St. Mary Magdalene’s,

Summer Sessions will safely welcome audiences and feature a diverse array of music from 24 June 2021, including a trio of African flavoured artists.

The 10-piece Sudanese-London collective, the psychedelic Afrobeat band, melds Arabic rhythms with raw Eastern funk and Western jazz, and will be playing songs from their forthcoming album ‘Let’s Go’

The five-piece UK-Afro supergroup who fuse Congolese guitar, Gambian kora and Mandinka percussion together with electronic styles create a dancefloor-friendly sound.

Electric Jalaba, Thursday 1 July 2021.
The Moroccan Gnawa funk dance fusion group; their deep psychedelic, jazzy, and techno heavy grooves are accompanied by the mesmeric vocals and energetic live performance of Simo Lagnawi.
